Lattices for ventilation in the new Algemesí swimming pools

Algemesí is a town in the Valencian Community, about 30kms south of Valencia. With its growth in the last century, it has joined Alzira and Carcaixent, to the point of having, between the three towns, about 95,000 inhabitants. This population center is the second largest in the province of Valencia, only surpassed by the capital itself and its metropolitan area.

The climate of Algemesí is classified as “Temperate Mediterranean”, with the particularities of the Valencian coastal plain. It is characterized by mild winters, hot summers, and in autumn, the characteristic torrential rains of the “cold drop”.

The Algemesí summer swimming pool project is conceived within the Algemesí Sports Centre project, where the athletics tracks and the football field are also located, and very close to the indoor swimming pools, forming a complete sports area for the whole year.

Sun protection needs

The incorporation of the lattices in this project revolves around the principles of using the lattices for ventilation and sun protection, but at the same time, they are integrated into the aesthetic design of the center, which has a preeminence of wood as a design element.

The project required the integration of the lattices for ventilation in mobile frames, which allow the opening of large openings in the façades, and that maintained a continuous aesthetic with the rest of the slats of the opening. As can be seen in the gallery, the product has fulfilled its mission.

Our contribution to the project

The model in our range that could best meet the requirements of the project is the
UPF-105
fixed slat lattice with inclination. It is one of our most popular products, due to its excellent combination of price, technical capabilities and functionality, standing out in this case in particular, in its variant of lattices for ventilation.

On a technical level, it is a lattice available with its slats at various inclinations, and that additionally, can be manufactured with the desired wheelbase of the slats. The main objective of these options is to prevent half slats from being left on a cloth, but the versatility they bring to the product when it is designed as a lattice for ventilation is undeniable.

On an aesthetic level for this project, it should be noted that thanks to its aluminium battens with a “d” shaped section, they are a very versatile proposal, as it allows you to play with the projections of the slats (taking advantage of the dimension of this “d”) without the need for added elements. Thanks to this capacity, we have been able to incorporate these slats into the mobile frames, even with the unified aesthetics that we show you in the images in the gallery.

Finally, we would like to point out that it is a very durable and resistant solution over time, thanks to the incorporation of a high-strength clipping system, which allows the slats to expand freely with respect to the support. These factors, together with their recyclability at the end of their useful life and the recycled origin of the material that composes them, presents UPF-105 lattices as a sustainable solution in the long term, even without taking into account their function as passive sun protection during their useful life.
