Sun protection needs

The Salvador Escoda logistics centre is a rectangular building, with a ground floor and two elevations, which orients the façade of the offices to the south, to make the most of natural light.

Given that Dos Hermanas is a town with very hot springs and summers, the incorporation of parasols with vertical slats is a solution both to control the passage of natural light, and to protect from the sun at the hours of greatest exposure.

The project has designed the incorporation of the slatted sunshades in projecting balconies, which add the shade factor of the cantilever to that of the slats themselves, maximizing the shadow cast on the glazed areas, and add depth to the aesthetics of the façade.

Our contribution to the project

Salvador Escoda’s new logistics centre in Seville has large-format aluminium slatted sunshades, model
UPO-350
, in its aluminium variant. It is a tapered slat with overlap between slats, with a slat width of 35cms, which admits maximum lengths of up to 450cms in one piece, and due to its resistance and economy, it has become a very popular product in Andalusia.

Our contribution to the project has been advice on the design of the lattices, manufacture and supply, leaving in the hands of
Myrsa
the tasks of coordination with
Novasa
(Project Management), integration of the element in the façade and the effective installation of the slats. From here, we want to congratulate you for the work done and the spectacular result.

It is also worth highlighting the design work of this element, both for the incorporation of the corporate colors of the end customer, and for the integration of a system with low-consumption lights, which has been carried out from the site, and which provide added value in terms of visual impact. converting these sunshades from functional solar control systems to illuminated signs at night.

It is a project that incorporated various technical challenges, both in design and during execution, but of which we are very satisfied, and which is a new example of a project with UPO-350 parasols in Andalusia.
