CEIP Trinitario Seva
The Ceip Trinitario Seva is a school located in Rafal, a town of just under 5,000 inhabitants, in the south of the province of Alicante. The center, the only one in the town, is named in honor of Don Trinitario Seva Valero, benefactor of the construction of the center.
One of the hallmarks of the town of Rafal is its vocation for music, an interest that has been present in the identity of the centre since its inception and has been maintained to this day, which has a “Musical Art Society”, declared of cultural interest and has a music band of recognised level. As a result of this interest, the school is integrated into a network of music promotion centers, together with the Municipal Auditorium and the Municipal Library.
The structure of the educational complex is made up of two buildings, one of older construction, which houses the CEIP Trinitario Seva and another annex, which houses the IES Rafal, of more modern construction. The project that we present here today corresponds to the tasks of improving energy efficiency carried out in the Ceip Trinitario Seva.

Sun protection needs
The building that houses the Ceip Trinitario Seva dates from the first half of the twentieth century, and has been the subject of a modernization project to improve its energy efficiency, and increase comfort in its classrooms. To this end, among other actions, the carpentry has been replaced, the blinds have been eliminated (an ineffective system for controlling natural light, as it is an all/nothing format) and they have been replaced by adjustable slatted lattices in the format of a parasol, installed at the top of the windows. With this configuration, a shadow projection is achieved on the windows, which works well in this case as they are windows of reduced height.
Our contribution to the project
The solar protection system with built-in slats for this project has had our most popular aluminium adjustable slat lattices, the
UPO-150
type lattices. Its suitability for this project is based both on its high maximum lengths, which allow a configuration of one-piece slats, and on its load-bearing meshes with a reduced cross-section, which have only been installed on the sides for an aesthetic of the floating slats. These two factors together achieve a very marked linearity, which adds to the sensation that the slats are floating, as the horizontal tube is not visible if they had a complete perimeter frame.
We would also like to highlight the choice of the RAL 9006 silver colour. This colour manages to provide a modern aesthetic, and as a standard colour, it is an added factor when it comes to optimising the costs of the whole. The silver colour RAL-9006 is standard in our entire range of lattices, both in fixed and adjustable slats, and as can be seen in other projects, it is one of the most demanded, both for its consistency over time, and for the metallic finish it incorporates. The sum of these factors makes it especially relevant for projects that prioritize cost optimization.
